Picture Dennis Hopper in the scene from the Quentin Tarantino movie True Romance,” yea, it’s a fact, hey… now I’m quoting history here…”

Wasn’t it a few years back we were all hearing how Marijuana and alcohol use leads to harder drugs? –and by harder drugs it was usually understood they meant heroin? Er wait, not Alcohol, that just leads to peculiar bumps in the female anatomy and liver disease in both sexes. Maybe the first part explains why it is still legal, but we digress.

The new word on the street is that Attention deficit drugs like Ritalin and Aderall are leading people to experiment with harder opiate drugs (heroine in the prescription form) and opiate substitute drugs like OxyContin, Vicodin, and Percocet –and the OD rates are alarming.

Leonard J. Paulozzi is an epidemiologist (someone who studies disease outbreaks) with the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Recently explained that mortality rates from drug overdoses are currently four to five times greater than they were during heroin’s heyday of the 70’s (See the history based movie American Gangster with Denzell Washington and Russel Crowe) and double the level of Crack Cocaine’s heyday (see the history based move “Blow” with Johnny Depp)

Those movies depict bent businessmen listed respectively: Frank Lucas and George Jung who become drug Kingpins of North America selling high quality Heroine and Cocaine into the United States from foreign sources. Now that we know these Attention deficit drugs are leading to harder legal prescription drugs, what will the next step be for the National War on Drugs? Pharmaceutical company busts? Doctor Office Raids? Insurance company asset seizure? We’ll be waiting with baited anticipation to see the next bigscreen hit: “Novartis Man: The story of Marcus Welby’s rise and fall.”

Gary Busey was in full form at the Oscars last night. Most are reporting about an enraged public that witnessed Gary Busey kissing Jennifer Garner on the neck. Jennifer Garner, probably best known for her role in the Oscar nominated best picture Juno, is married to Ben Affleck. Just after the exchange, Jennifer asked “Where’s my Husband!” but Ben was no where to be found.

If you saw the exchange it looked more like an excited kid making the rounds instead of a crazed madman. We’ve got the clip so if you didn’t see it read the rest of the story

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/krDoAUJDcKU&rel=1&border=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent"width="425" height="355">

Ryan Seacrest seemed to do his best to make it look like Gary Busey’s actions were grossly inappropriate. Busey first offered up a little bit of a challenge to Ryan, then Seacrest snubbed him by focusing his cameras on Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney. Of course, there’s no doubting Gary Busey has acted inappropriately in the past and perhaps this is the reason for the slant on most stories this morning.

Gary Busey was nominated for an Oscar in the past for his part in “The Buddy Holly Strory.” The thing about Gary Busey is he’s a wacko, but a wacko in a good way! If there was ever an award, and maybe there should be, Gary Busey would definitely get it. Yea, that’s it -theFutonPoncho award! We’ll be sending one out to Gary when they come in. Wear it proudly. Thanks Gary, for making the Oscars light and fun. You’re right! It is not, nor should the Academy Awards be a stuffed shirt affair. We’ll keep you informed of this and other entertaining news.

We’ve for the correct spellings in this story but common mistypes for this story are Gary Bussey Beusey Bussy Ben Afleck Afflek, Aflek, Rian Seecrest Lora Lara Liney, Lenee

Roger Avary is the Co-writer with Quentin Tarantino of the smash 90’s hit Pulp Fiction starring John Travolta and Samuel Jackson. Early Monday morning he was involved in a fatal accident in which passenger Andreas Zedini a 34 year old Italian Native was killed.

Wife Gretchen Avary was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The accident took place in Ojai California and Captain Monica McGrath of Ventura Country Sheriffs Department disclosed that Avary is charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. He has been release from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.

Avery was also recently in the news for his involvement with the Movie Beowulf where he was the executive producer. Avery was born in Canada, but following the path of so many successful Canadians, moved to The USA for the good life sans hockey and cold weather. Avery is also credited with Tarantino for writing True Romance and Reservoir Dogs. The proceeds from the sale of True Romance aided in the production of the film Reservoir Dogs.
