Don’t Ever Talk to Police
It’s counter intuitive, but you should never under any circumstances talk to the police. Anything you say can be used against you. But did you know this: By the rules of the American system of Justice and evidence, anything you say in your favor to police specifically cannot be used in your Defense in court. Here is an excellent video by Law Professor James Duane, It is a 27 minute video and has a response by a Veteran Police detective for an additional 20 minutes or so, but every American should watch this video and really understand your rights in a Police situation. This will help you understand the reason that Police must issue a Miranda warning at the beginning of any arrest.

1. Enact legislation that requires gun ownership, then make it illegal to draw guns in public. If you draw you gun in public, you risk a 10 year prison sentence unless it is in verifiable self-defense. With approximately 150 students in the hall at the time of the shooting, how many holes would this NIU shooter have in him before he fired a second shot?

2. Enact Legislation that bans publicizing the name of the perpetrator. There’s got to be some morbid fame seeking behavior here that can be easily avoided. If a nut-job knew he would not have his picture in the paper and his name would not be emblazoned across the nation and the world, would he have given the idea a second thought? How many lives would have been saved if a wacko knew s/he would not gain infamy? Probably more lives than have been saved in 20 years of child seat laws. I’ll bet John Lennon and JFK would still be alive, or at least have died from more natural causes. If those unnamed goonies realized no one would remember their names, would they have second thoughts? Yes Columbine dickheads, this means you too.

3. Develop real paths to success for troubled individuals instead of pumping them full of drugs and pigeon-holing mental illness. Nobody wants to look at the shooter as a victim in cases like this, but it is happening with so much frequency, that it could not all be attributed to fame seeking behavior. It’s amazing when you consider the amount of money the government will spend on programs with little positive social effect, that something could not be done. It’s a tough issue however. Would this, or the Virginia Tech shootings been avoided? On one hand you don’t want to scare truly violent prone people away from seeking help, and on the other hand you don’t want to make it “fun and profitable” to be crazy.
