Don’t Ever Talk to Police
It’s counter intuitive, but you should never under any circumstances talk to the police. Anything you say can be used against you. But did you know this: By the rules of the American system of Justice and evidence, anything you say in your favor to police specifically cannot be used in your Defense in court. Here is an excellent video by Law Professor James Duane, It is a 27 minute video and has a response by a Veteran Police detective for an additional 20 minutes or so, but every American should watch this video and really understand your rights in a Police situation. This will help you understand the reason that Police must issue a Miranda warning at the beginning of any arrest.

I ride the Grand Illinois Trail. I do it almost every day -weather permitting. The Illinois and Michigan Canal joined Lake Michigan with the Illinois River and eventually to the Mississippi river in the mid 1800’s. By some accounts, the I&M canal made Chicago the Midwest trade center that it is today. As the railroad took over as the preferred means of transportation, the trail fell into disrepair. In the last couple of decades it has been rediscovered as a nature preserve and has a bike path that follows it almost the whole length (at least 70-80 miles of it anyway.) Along the path it would not be uncommon to see geese, beavers, woodchucks or deer. It is truly an Illinois prized possession and best kept secret.

It’s normal to see something that was deposited from decades ago; remnants of tractors, oil tanks, cars in their rusty remains but to see a bright shiny blue barrel is just simply out of place. Maybe someone was putting on a joke and left this blue barrel out there, but it would appear that it has been out there for a while and the overgrowth of the local fauna could have concealed it.
The barrel is located about half way down the trail between the map stand off McClindon Road and the Dresden Mule Barn. If you look towards the Des Plaines River you can see it plain as you can in the ledad picture. This is just downstream from where the police were hunting a few months earlier.

I thought I would do the right thing and call this into the police. It seemed like nobody wanted to talk to me!

Knowing it is probably not the right office, but that they could point me in the right direction, I called the Joliet Office of the State’s Attorney James W. Glasgow. They suggested I call the Joliet Police. I called the Joliet Police and explained that I found this blue barrel and they said I would have to talk to the County Sheriff. They gave me the number for the Sheriff, I called them and gave them the information; after which they told me it is a State Police issue, and gave me the State Police number, but the number they gave me was the emergency number, so I had to make my fifth call to the State Police’s non emergency number. The non-emergency number was a recording. I had to wait for the recording to finish before I got a live person on the line. I told that person the information, and then she said she would connect me with the Stacy Peterson Hotline. At the Stacy Peterson Hotline, I recorded the story and left a number on which they could call me back. I don’t think they really need to, since I had rehearsed the story five times with the other law enforcement operators in the moments before. I don’t think this blue barrel will really lead to anything but …you just never know…

All you need to do is see the 1996 movie The People vs. Larry Flynt where Woody Harrelson plays Hustler Magazines Boss Larry Claxton Flynt Jr. and you’ll understand why Larry is probably hands down one of the best examples of a true fit for an all time futonponcho award. Most people know that Larry offered Ashley Alexandra Dupre one million dollars to appear in his magazine, but get this: Playgirl “Mangazine” is offering one million dollars to Elliot Spitzer to pose for them. Who says Larry doesn’t still have what it takes to be a first mover.Playgirl, playing on the fact that Elliot will likely need some big cash in his war chest, posted an open appeal on the playgirlmag blog website , here’s an excerpt

How about making some loot back, by showing us what you saved for such a select few? How about strutting your sexuality, and defending your right to get down? Charles Manson Murders New Gravesides Discovered

Charles Manson was well known in the 60’s for the murder arrest and conviction of what was called at the time the “Manson Family” Tate and LaBianca Murders which happened over a period of two days. Charles Manson and his band of mostly women, killed among others, Sharon Tate, an eight and a half month pregnant woman. Manson was sentenced to death but later had the sentence commuted to life in prison. The story was shocking back in 1969 when it broke and is equally chilling when you consider this case has been closed for almost 40 years and new evidence of the vicousness of the Manson family come to light. Manson expected the end of the world and called the end “Helter Skelter” a popular song at the time written and performed by the Beatles.

After police searched their Spahn Ranch the group fled to their Barker Ranch in Death Valley California where Manson was taken into custody. The Baker ranch was never searched as diligently as the Spahn Ranch, which was part of the reason for the focus on the Death Valley ranch. Researchers Arpad Vass and Marc Wise of from Oak Ridge National Laboratory recently used chemical technology to identify likely grave sites previously undiscovered. Search dogs were used to identify possible sites then the scientists used their technology to narrow the locations.

The technology relies on the fact that fluoride is added to most supplies of human drinking water. This allows the researchers to differentiate human from animal remains. There is speculation that the sites belong to hitchhikers and other people who befriended the clan but were then later despised.
